A new data center totaling over 2,100 square meters is now under construction at Telehouse. One third of the new space is already leased before completion. Sustainability is part of the corporate strategy: data centers are operated with a high level of energy efficiency and 100% use of green electricity in order to protect the environment. Telehouse aims to leverage the produced waste heat from the new data center for a neighboring residential complex for heating.\r\n\r\nThe commissioning of the new data center is scheduled for April 2020. The new building is being built on campus in the south-west and construction is in full swing. The data center is designed with three floors and 720 sqm of colocation space per floor and a power density of 3.6 megawatts (MW). With high investments, the data center will be upgraded on-site and technically to the international Telehouse standard for state-of-the-art data center environments. To meet the standard of the new data center with certified evidence, Telehouse has the following certifications: ISO 27001, ISAE 3402, ISO 50001, PCI DSS, ISO 9001.\r\n\r\nThe supply units to be installed in the new data center building as well as the adiabatic cooling mode result in an annual power usage effectiveness factor (PUE) of &lt;1.25. This is a very good value in the industry for large commercial data centers and demonstrates the high energy efficiency of Telehouse.\r\n\r\nIn Frankfurt, depending on the situation, you think beyond your own grounds about sustainability, because a new residential complex with 1,500 units is to be built across the street. Talks about making good use of the waste heat have already taken place with the investors and met with a positive response. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) would welcome this pilot project in the implementation, in order to make the generated waste heat of a data center usable as local heat for the housing industry.\r\n\r\n&#8220;We&#8217;ve been committed to a sustainable approach to equipping and operating our own data centers for years.
